How does transporting food to different areas make problems in the environment? It’s not really the transporting that’s the problem; it’s the way the food is being transported. The cargo ships, delivery trucks, and drop off planes cause air pollution that affects not only the environment but also the people. Since there aren’t enough trees in the world, not much clean air goes around. By eating local food we can cut down the use of planes, ships, and trucks that’ll reduce the smoke that goes into the atmosphere. Not only do the cargo liners create air pollution but they also give problems for the aquatic life. What happens is while the cargo is being delivered by water, oil is slowly getting dumped out from the back and it spreads. Then the marine existence decreases because of the polluted water and that affects the fishing industry, which supports families.
